Create a Natural Forest Floor with Pebbles and Twigs
Gathering Materials
Collect pebbles and twigs from your surrounding biome, or craft them from stone blocks and logs. Forest biomes naturally spawn both resources, but you can gather from caves and riverbeds too. Collect a variety of stone types—Andesite, Diorite, and Granite work well together for visual variety.
Placement Strategy
Start by identifying bare dirt or grass patches on your forest floor. Place pebbles first to create rocky clusters, then stack matching pebbles up to four high in single spots for depth and texture. This mimics natural stone accumulation.
Next, add twigs by clicking the sides of blocks to place them flat and horizontal. Target the upper or lower half of block sides to vary their height. Mix upright twigs (placed on top of blocks) with flat ones for a chaotic, natural appearance.
Final Touches
Layer pebbles and twigs together—place a twig near a pebble cluster, then add another pebble stack nearby. Vary stone types and wood types throughout the area. Step back frequently to check your work. The goal is scattered, uneven coverage that looks like natural debris rather than a grid pattern. Add more density in shadowed areas under trees.
