Build an Automated Pebble Trap with Dispensers
Setting Up the Dispenser
Place a Dispenser facing toward your intended target area. Load pebbles into the Dispenser's inventory—you can use any stone type. The more pebbles you load, the longer the trap can fire before needing refill.
Triggering the Trap
Connect the Dispenser to a Redstone power source. Common setups include:
- A Redstone button or lever for manual activation
- A pressure plate that triggers when players or mobs walk over it
- Redstone dust and repeaters for timed or delayed firing
When powered, the Dispenser shoots pebbles as projectiles that deal damage on impact. Test your setup in a safe area first.
Optimization Tips
Stack multiple Dispensers side-by-side or in a line to create a wider barrage. Use Redstone repeaters to stagger firing if you want continuous pebble streams. Place the trap in a confined space—a hallway or corridor—to prevent pebbles from scattering uselessly. Remember that pebbles are waterloggable, so wet traps won't affect their function if you're building near water.
