Understand Mob Behavior During the Peaceful Moon

What Changes

The Peaceful Moon specifically prevents new hostile mobs from spawning. This is an important distinction:

  • Hostile mobs that existed before the event started will remain in the world
  • These existing mobs can still move, attack, and cause damage
  • Your difficulty setting stays the same—the mod doesn't change game rules
  • Only *new* spawns are blocked

What Doesn't Change

  • Passive mobs (animals, villagers) spawn normally
  • Ambient mobs (bats) are unaffected
  • Existing hostile mobs behave as usual
  • Mob drops and experience work normally
  • Environmental hazards (lava, fall damage) remain dangerous

Strategy

To truly enjoy a peaceful night, clear hostile mobs from your immediate area before activating the event. This gives you a genuine safe zone for building and exploration. The Peaceful Moon is best used as a tool for uninterrupted progress rather than complete invulnerability.
