How to Pat Mobs in Pat Pat Mod

Patting Mobs

Pat Pat Mod adds a single, simple interaction: patting a mob on the head. To do it, walk up to any living mob, hold the crouch key, and press the right mouse button. A hand animation appears above the mob to show the pat landed.

The crouch requirement matters. If you right-click a mob without crouching, you get the normal interaction instead, such as trading with a villager, shearing a sheep, or mounting a horse. Crouching tells the mod you mean to pat rather than use the mob's usual function.

Only living mobs can be patted. Things like boats, minecarts, item frames, and armor stands are not living entities, so the pat will not trigger on them. Any mob with health counts, including hostile ones, so you can pat a zombie just as easily as a wolf or a cow.

There is no item, tool, or crafting step involved. The pat is purely a cosmetic interaction, so it does not tame, feed, heal, or otherwise change the mob.
