Safe Petting Techniques

The Pat Pat Mod lets you interact with hostile mobs, but safety depends on timing and positioning.

Before You Approach

Hostile mobs like Creepers, Spiders, and Endermen will still attack if provoked. To pet them safely:

1. Keep your distance until the mob is calm or distracted

2. Approach from behind or the side when possible—mobs have limited peripheral vision

3. Avoid sudden movements that trigger aggression

4. Use terrain like hills or water to control approach angles

The Petting Action

Once close enough:

1. Look directly at the mob

2. Right-click to initiate the pat

3. Watch for the hand animation to play on your screen

4. Back away immediately after the animation completes

Multiplayer Consideration

In servers, other players can also pet mobs you're near. Coordinate with teammates to avoid accidentally triggering mob aggression through crowding or repeated interactions in quick succession.

Remember: petting doesn't tame or pacify mobs permanently—it's a momentary interaction. Always keep an escape route available when petting dangerous creatures.
