How Passive Shield Works

The Passive Shield Mod changes how shields behave in combat. Normally a shield in your off-hand is always visible, but this mod hides it while it is idle, so your view stays clear. The shield only appears when you right-click to raise it.

Even while hidden, the shield still protects you. By default it passively negates 33% of incoming damage, and this applies whether the shield sits in your off-hand or your main hand as long as you are not actively using it. Raising the shield gives you its normal active blocking.

Configuring the Mod

Two options control the behavior. hideShieldWhenNotInUse toggles whether the shield is hidden while idle. passiveShieldPercentageDamageNegated sets how much damage is blocked passively, from 0% to 100%. Lower it for a challenge, or raise it for stronger passive defense.
