Create a Custom Heart Pixel Removal Pattern

Access the Pattern Editor

Open the Partial Hearts Mod configuration menu from your settings. Select the option to create or edit a custom heart pattern. You'll see a heart grid displayed on screen.

Draw Your Pattern

Click on individual pixels within the heart to toggle them on or off. Plan which pixels should disappear first when you take damage. Think of this like painting—darker or marked pixels will vanish as your health depletes.

Set the Removal Order

After drawing your shape, you need to assign numbers to each pixel to control the sequence of removal. Click on pixels and enter values that determine when they disappear. Lower numbers disappear first, higher numbers last. This creates the animation effect as you lose health.

Test Your Pattern

Save your custom pattern and return to gameplay. Take small amounts of damage to watch your pattern animate. Pixels should disappear in the order you specified, revealing your custom design as your health bar depletes.

Refine as Needed

If the removal order doesn't feel right, return to the editor and adjust the numbering on pixels until the animation flows the way you want.
