Use Paranoia Shaders for Different Times of Day
Understand Day/Night Cycle Visuals
Paranoia Shaders automatically shifts the sky appearance as Minecraft's day/night cycle progresses. During day, expect bright, cartoon-style or fantasy clouds. At night, the mod applies different lighting and often adds eerie or whimsical elements depending on your chosen skybox.
Select a Skybox That Suits Your Playstyle
Some skyboxes have dramatic day/night contrasts, while others maintain consistent aesthetics. If you're building during day and mining at night, test your current skybox over a full cycle. Open Shader Options and try different presets to see which day/night transitions you prefer.
Adjust Lighting for Specific Activities
If night feels too dark for mining, check for Brightness or Ambient Light sliders in Shader Options. Increasing these helps you see better underground without changing the skybox itself.
Conversely, if you want a more dramatic, spooky night for a horror build, reduce these values. The sky's appearance combined with adjusted lighting creates the mood you're after.
