Improve Frame Rate While Using Paranoia Shaders

Lower Shader Intensity

Open Shader Options from the pause menu. Look for settings labeled Quality, Performance Mode, or Detail Level. Paranoia is designed to run on older hardware, but reducing these values further will boost FPS.

Disable Optional Visual Effects

Within the settings, you may find toggles for:

  • Bloom or Glow effects
  • Ambient Occlusion (shadows in crevices)
  • Parallax or depth effects
  • Volumetric Fog or atmospheric effects

Disabling any of these reduces the workload on your GPU without removing the skybox entirely.

Adjust Render Distance and Vanilla Settings

Even with shaders optimized, your base Minecraft settings matter. Lower your Render Distance in Video Settings and disable Fancy Graphics if needed. These changes work alongside shader settings to maximize performance.

Test and Balance

Make one change at a time and play for a minute to feel the difference. Find the sweet spot where the sky still looks good but your frame rate stays smooth.
