Optimize Pre-Generation for Large Modpacks
Prepare Your System
Before pre-generating a large modpack world, close unnecessary applications to free RAM and CPU resources. Parallel World Streamer Mod trades memory for speed, so ensure you have adequate RAM available. The mod will use more RAM than vanilla Minecraft during generation, but this is temporary and returns to normal once generation completes.
Monitor Generation Progress
Start pre-generation and observe chunk throughput in the logs or debug screen. The mod's performance charts show expected generation speeds for various modpacks. If your throughput is significantly lower, check for CPU bottlenecks (other applications running) or thread-unsafe mod interactions causing containment.
Leverage Parallel I/O
The mod processes chunk saving and loading on separate worker threads, so disk speed matters. Faster storage (SSD vs. HDD) noticeably improves pre-generation times. During generation, the mod won't freeze your game thread while writing chunks to disk—you can continue playing or adjusting settings while generation runs in the background.
