How to Use the Paper Doll to Check Your Pose While Flying or Swimming
The paper doll is most useful for actions where you cannot easily see your own character — elytra flight, sprint-swimming, and crawling. This guide focuses on getting the most out of it for those poses.
Elytra Gliding and Flying
When you launch with an elytra, the doll switches to a gliding pose so you can confirm you are actually in flight rather than falling. Enable both the flying and gliding actions in the config so the doll reacts whether you are in creative flight or elytra gliding. This is handy for spotting the moment your elytra stops working mid-air.
Sprint-Swimming and Crawling
Sprint-swimming and crawling put your player in a flat, low pose that is hard to judge from first person. With those actions enabled, the doll shows the horizontal body position, letting you confirm you entered the pose correctly — useful when navigating one-block gaps or water tunnels.
Crouching and Sneaking
Sneaking changes your silhouette and prevents you from walking off ledges. The doll shows the crouched pose, so you get instant feedback that sneak is actually held.
Practical Tips
Keep the action list trimmed to the poses you care about so the doll is not constantly on screen. If a pose never appears, re-check that its toggle is enabled and test the action in a safe area before relying on it.
