Fixing Lag or Stutter During Panorama Capture
Why It Happens
The mod takes many screenshots in quick succession while rotating the camera. On a heavy world, at high render distance, or with shaders, each frame can take long enough that the capture outruns the game and you get stutter, dropped frames, or a failed sweep.
The Fix: Increase the Screenshot Delay
Open the mod's configuration file and raise the screenshotdelay value. This adds more time between each individual screenshot, giving your game room to render the next frame before the next capture. Higher delay = smoother capture, at the cost of the whole process taking longer. Start by nudging it up and re-testing rather than jumping to a huge number.
Other Things That Help
- Lower render distance temporarily — fewer chunks to draw means faster frames.
- Disable shaders for the capture; shader compilation and post-processing add per-frame cost.
- Pause background work — close other heavy programs, and avoid capturing while chunks are still loading.
- Stand still so the game is not also streaming new terrain as the camera turns.
If captures still fail, try a smaller panorama resolution (see the resolution guide) — fewer pixels per frame means less work per screenshot.
