Take Better Screenshots with PaintBound Shaders

Prepare Your Scene

Before screenshotting, position yourself to capture interesting lighting and shadow interplay. PaintBound's brushstroke shading and bloom effects are most visible when light sources are prominent. Time of day matters—dawn and dusk provide dramatic colored lighting.

Optimize Camera Angle

Move to a vantage point that showcases your build's details. The cartoon painting style benefits from angles that highlight block textures and light gradients. Avoid looking directly at the sun; instead, position light sources to illuminate your subject from the side or behind.

Adjust Shader Settings for Screenshots

If you're using Low or Medium settings, temporarily switch to High for screenshots to capture maximum bloom and brushstroke detail. This won't affect gameplay performance permanently.

Capture and Compare

Take multiple shots from different angles and times. The soft bloom and colored lighting create naturally beautiful results, but experimenting helps you find the most striking compositions. PaintBound's art style makes even simple builds look polished and visually appealing in screenshots.
