Adjust Shader Quality for Better Performance

Access Shader Settings

Open your Options menu and navigate to the Shader Settings panel. PaintBound Shaders offers three quality presets designed to balance visual fidelity with frame rate stability.

Choose Your Quality Level

Low Setting: Reduces bloom intensity and simplifies brushstroke calculations. Use this if you're experiencing frame drops or playing on older hardware. Lighting remains colorful but bloom effects are minimal.

Medium Setting: The balanced default. Maintains the full brushstroke painting effect with moderate bloom around light sources. Recommended for most players.

High Setting: Enables maximum bloom radius, enhanced shadow detail, and more complex brushstroke rendering. Requires a capable GPU but delivers the most dramatic cartoon painting appearance.

Apply and Test

After selecting your preferred tier, apply the changes and observe your world for a few seconds. If you still experience stuttering, lower the setting further. You can switch between presets at any time without restarting your game.

Remember that other mods, render distance, and resource packs also affect performance—adjust those variables if shader quality alone doesn't solve lag issues.
