Use Structure Chaining to Load Buildings in Stages
Understanding Structure Chaining
Structure Chaining lets you place structure blocks *inside* saved structures. When the parent structure loads, it automatically triggers child structures to load afterward. This is essential for massive builds because it loads them piece by piece instead of all at once.
Setting It Up
1. Save your large building as multiple separate structures (for example: town_center_part1, town_center_part2)
2. Create a master structure block that contains references to these smaller structures
3. Place structure blocks in Load mode inside your saved structure files, positioned where each sub-structure should appear
4. When you load the master structure, each child structure block will activate in sequence
Benefits
This prevents crashes and lag spikes by distributing the load over time. It's ideal for towns, dungeons, or any project built from multiple sections that need to load together.
