How to Read the Wrapping Armor Bar When Your Armor Exceeds Diamond

The Problem With a Full Bar

Vanilla caps the armor bar at a full row of icons, so diamond-tier armor and anything stronger look identical. Overloaded Armor Bar fixes this by wrapping the bar: once the first row fills, additional armor points start filling a second row, drawn in a different color. This lets you visually compare armor that is stronger than diamond at a glance.

Reading the Colors

Each time the bar wraps, the icon color changes. That means the color itself tells you which "layer" of armor you are looking at:

  • The first row uses the standard color you already know from vanilla.
  • The second row uses a distinct color, indicating armor beyond the vanilla full bar.
  • Further wraps continue cycling through the configured colors.

You do not need to count icons precisely. Just glance at how many rows are filled and what color the topmost filled row is. A half-filled second row means you are partway into the next tier of protection.

Why the Bar Sometimes Stops Growing

Without the AttributeFix mod, the game itself caps how much armor actually counts toward protection, so the displayed bar will stop increasing past that point even if your gear lists a higher value. If your bar seems stuck, that cap is the reason, not a bug in the display.
