How to Make the Armor Bar Show Even When You Have No Armor
Why the Bar Disappears
By default, the vanilla armor bar vanishes the moment your armor points hit zero. If you are running a modpack where armor comes and goes (mob effects, temporary gear, or armor that breaks mid-fight), that disappearing bar makes it hard to tell whether you are actually protected. The Overloaded Armor Bar mod adds a config toggle that keeps the bar on screen at all times.
Turning It On
1. Open your mod config screen. You can reach it from the Mods list on the main menu, or through the in-game mod options menu if your loader provides one.
2. Find the Overloaded Armor Bar entry and open its settings.
3. Locate the option that controls showing the armor bar when the player wears no armor, and enable it.
4. Save the config. Some setups apply changes immediately; others need you to leave and re-enter the world.
Once enabled, you will see an empty (or dimmed) armor bar even with nothing equipped. This is handy for players who swap armor sets often, since the bar stays anchored in the same spot on the HUD instead of popping in and out.
Pairing With Hidden Empty Icons
If you dislike the look of empty icons, you can combine this with the option that hides empty armor icons. The result is a bar that only draws the icons you have actually filled, while still reserving its HUD position.
