Ensuring Otter Lib Compatibility With Your Mod Setup
Before Installing Mods
When adding new mods to your setup, check their dependencies. If a mod lists Otter Lib as required, you'll need to install it.
Where to Check:
- The mod's CurseForge or Modrinth page (look for "Dependencies" section)
- The mod's official documentation or README
- The mod's GitHub repository
Version Matching
Otter Lib must match your:
- Minecraft version — A mod for 1.20 won't work with 1.19
- Mod loader — Forge and Fabric versions are separate
If you install a mod and it won't load, verify the Otter Lib version supports the same Minecraft version and loader.
Installation Order
There's no strict order, but it's good practice to:
1. Install Otter Lib first
2. Then install mods that depend on it
This makes troubleshooting easier if something goes wrong. If you're unsure whether you need Otter Lib, check the dependent mod's page — it will clearly state the requirement.
