Loading Custom Origins from Data Packs

Preparing Your Data Pack

Origins Legacy Mod maintains compatibility with the older power file format, so custom origins created for previous versions work without major changes. Ensure your data pack follows the classic Origins mod structure with power definitions in the correct directory format.

Installing the Data Pack

1. Place your custom origins data pack in the datapacks folder of your world directory

2. Load into your world (the mod will read the pack on startup)

3. Open the origin selection menu

4. Your custom origins should appear alongside the default classes

Verifying Custom Origins

Check the mod's power data pack menu to confirm your custom classes loaded successfully. If your origins don't appear, verify that the file structure matches the legacy format the mod expects. You may need to update file paths or JSON formatting if the pack was created for a significantly older version, but the mod minimizes these compatibility issues.

Custom origins will function with all their original abilities—no need to recreate power definitions from scratch.
