Transition Smoothly Between Vanilla and Ore Plus Worlds

Preparing for the Shift

Moving from vanilla ore generation to Ore Plus (or vice versa) changes how you approach resource gathering. Understanding these differences helps you adapt your playstyle and expectations.

What Changes When You Install Ore Plus

Early-game pacing accelerates. With more frequent ores, you'll reach iron and diamond tools faster than in vanilla. Plan your builds and goals accordingly—you may complete early-stage projects sooner.

Mining becomes less essential for survival. You won't need to spend as much time ore hunting, freeing time for building, exploration, and other activities.

Existing worlds remain unaffected. Installing Ore Plus only changes ore generation in newly generated chunks. Your current world keeps vanilla generation unless you regenerate terrain.

Tips for the Transition

Start a new world if you want the full Ore Plus experience from the beginning. This ensures all chunks use the mod's generation rules.

Explore new terrain in existing worlds to find Ore Plus-generated chunks with boosted ores.

Adjust your goals. With resources more abundant, shift focus to larger builds, automation, or exploration rather than resource grinding.
