Identify a deposit near your base or in a convenient location. Mark it clearly with signs or torches so you can find it easily. The closer the deposit is to your main base, the more efficient your resource gathering becomes.

Sustainable Harvesting

Visit your deposit regularly to collect ore. Since deposits regenerate, you can establish a routine: mine the deposit, smelt or process the ore, then return when you need more. This works for all overworld ores, including modded ores if they generate above Y=8.

Long-term Benefits

Using deposits eliminates the need for extensive mining expeditions. You'll save time and resources by having a reliable, renewable source of ore. This is especially valuable for ores you use frequently in crafting or building. Multiple deposits can be used simultaneously if you discover several in different locations.
