Use Open Together with Modded Doors and Gates

Understanding Block Tag Compatibility

Open Together uses block tags to recognize doors and gates from other mods. This means many custom doors from furniture and decoration mods will automatically sync with the mod, as long as they're tagged as doors or gates in their mod's configuration.

Testing Custom Blocks

Place two matching custom doors or gates next to each other and click one. If they open together, they're compatible. If only one opens, the custom block may not be tagged as a door or gate in the mod system.

Checking Mod Compatibility

Most popular door and gate mods work out of the box. If a specific custom door doesn't sync, it may be because:

  • The mod uses a different block tag system
  • The blocks aren't registered as doors or gates
  • They have unusual placement mechanics

You can still use the doors normally—they just won't sync with Open Together. Check the custom mod's documentation if you need specific compatibility details.
