Build a Safe Shelter Quickly

As soon as you spawn, break your starter block a few times to gather wood and stone. Before sunset, use these materials to build walls around your platform—at least 2 blocks high. Mobs cannot spawn on well-lit blocks, so place torches liberally around your shelter. A simple 3×3 or 4×4 enclosed box is enough for your first night.

Secure Your Edges

The void is your biggest threat. Build railings or walls around the perimeter of your platform so you don't accidentally walk off in the dark or while fighting mobs. Leave no gaps wider than a single block at ground level.

Stock Your Shelter

Bring inside a crafting table, a furnace, and a chest with basic tools and food. If mobs break through, you'll have supplies to repair and defend. Keep a bed inside—sleeping skips the night and resets your spawn point to safety.

Stay Inside Until Dawn

Once sealed in, avoid opening doors unnecessarily.
