Set Up Your First Farm on Limited Space
Prepare Your Platform
Before planting crops, you need flat, accessible ground. Break your starter block repeatedly until you collect enough dirt and wood. Place blocks outward in a 5×5 or larger square around your spawn point, leaving yourself room to move and work.
Plant and Grow Crops
Once you have a platform, collect seeds by breaking tall grass or by crafting them from gathered materials. Till soil using a hoe—right-click dirt blocks next to water to turn them into farmland. Plant your seeds and keep the farmland hydrated by placing water nearby (water hydrates farmland up to 4 blocks away horizontally).
Harvest crops when they're fully grown (they'll look visibly mature). Replant immediately to keep your farm productive. Early crops like wheat and potatoes are reliable food sources and won't take up much of your limited space.
Expand Gradually
As your farm grows, extend your platform outward. Prioritize keeping your farm close to your base so you can tend it easily. Store excess seeds and crops in chests near your farming area for quick access.
