Efficiently Gather Resources from Block Drops

Understand the Block Cycle

Each time you break your starter block, it respawns with a different material. The mod cycles through various stone types, ores, wood, and occasionally rare drops. Break the block repeatedly in a focused session to see what spawns and collect what you need most.

Prioritize Early Materials

Focus first on gathering wood (for tools and crafting tables), stone (for better tools), and dirt (for platform expansion). Once you have basic tools, you can process materials faster. Collect iron ore when it appears—smelt it in a furnace to make iron tools and armor.

Organize Your Collection

Use chests to sort materials by type: one for wood, one for stone, one for ores, and one for miscellaneous drops. This makes crafting and building much faster. Label chests mentally or with signs so you know what's stored where.

Don't Waste Time on Excess

If you have enough of a material, skip breaking the block until it cycles to something useful. You can always come back for more common blocks later when you need bulk materials for expansion.
