Create Sideways Stairs from Regular Stairs

Using the Stonecutter

Sideway stairs let you build slopes that face left or right instead of forward. The fastest way to make them is with a stonecutter.

1. Craft or obtain regular stone stairs (or any stone-type stairs)

2. Place a stonecutter on your crafting surface

3. Put the stone stairs into the stonecutter's input slot

4. The stonecutter will show sideways stair variants in its output options

5. Click the sideways stair variant you want and collect the result

Crafting Wooden Sideways Stairs

For wooden or soft material sideways stairs, use a regular crafting table instead:

1. Gather the appropriate blocks (wood planks, dirt, etc.)

2. Open your crafting table

3. Arrange materials in the sideways stair pattern shown in the recipe

4. Collect your new sideways stairs

Stonecutting is faster for stone variants since you only need one input block, while crafting tables work better for wooden and natural materials where you need multiple blocks per recipe.
