Build with Vertical Slabs for Detailed Walls
Finding Vertical Slabs
Vertical slabs are half-thickness blocks that stand upright, perfect for creating detailed wall patterns and trim.
1. Open your creative inventory
2. Navigate to the Vertical Slabs tab
3. Browse the available vertical slab variants (one for each vanilla block type)
4. Grab the material you need
Using Vertical Slabs Effectively
Vertical slabs work like regular slabs but oriented vertically:
- Place them on block faces to create thin vertical lines
- Combine with horizontal slabs and stairs for complex patterns
- Stack multiple vertical slabs to build textured wall sections
- Mix different materials (deepslate, copper, wood) for visual variety
- Use them as trim around doorways, windows, and architectural details
Because vertical slabs preserve block properties, copper variants will oxidize over time and wooden variants can burn, adding dynamic visual changes to your builds.
