What This Mod Does

Oh The Trees You'll Grow is a library mod, not a content mod. It gives mod developers a straightforward way to generate trees from Minecraft's .nbt structure files, which means tree shapes can be designed precisely rather than assembled from hardcoded blocks.

Originally built for Oh The Biomes You'll Go, it can be used by other mods as well.

How Trees Are Built

The library supports trunk and leaf decorators, letting developers shape trees with more realism and variety. It rewrites how trees grow so that growth accounts for solid blocks, terrain, and environmental factors. Trees are also prevented from spawning in inappropriate places, such as inside structures or near bedrock.

For Developers

A generalized setup makes it easier to add new tree types and decorators, and tools are included for generating tree data automatically. The result is more natural-looking trees, including rotated logs and branches.

For Players

If you install this mod on its own, expect little visible change. Its effects appear when another mod depends on it.
