Crafting and Using Aspen Wood: Planks, Boats, and Building Blocks

From Log to Planks

Chop Aspen Logs from Aspen trees, which grow in the mod's aspen forest biomes — look for tall, pale-barked trees with light green leaves. Place logs in your crafting grid to get Aspen Planks, the foundation for every other Aspen building block. From planks you can craft the full vanilla-style set: Aspen Stairs, Aspen Slabs, Aspen Fences, Aspen Fence Gates, Aspen Doors, Aspen Trapdoors, Aspen Buttons, Aspen Pressure Plates, Aspen Signs, Aspen Hanging Signs, Aspen Bookshelves, and an Aspen Crafting Table.

Boats and Wood Variants

Combine Aspen Planks in the standard boat recipe shape to get an Aspen Boat, and add a chest to make an Aspen Boat with Chest for transporting items across water. If you want the bark-textured look, craft Aspen Wood by placing four Aspen Logs in a square — this gives you a block with bark on all sides, useful for pillars and rustic builds. Aspen Saplings drop from Aspen Leaves; plant them on dirt or grass with light to grow more trees. The pale color palette makes Aspen ideal for bright, airy builds like cottages and docks.
