Reduce Texture Repetition with Add-ons

Why Blocks Look Repetitive

Without variation, large areas of the same block—like a grass field or stone wall—create obvious repeating patterns that break immersion. Odar is includes add-ons specifically designed to hide this repetition.

Using Random Blocks Add-on

Enable the Random Blocks add-on to give each block subtle visual variations. Stone blocks will show different crack patterns, grass will have slight color shifts, and dirt will display varied surface details. This works best in large, flat areas where repetition is most noticeable.

Layering with Overlay Add-ons

For grass surfaces, use the Overlay add-on to scatter small plants and details across flat terrain. If you've already enabled Random Blocks, activate the Random Overlay add-on instead—it synchronizes the grass variations with block variations for a cohesive look.

Combining for Maximum Effect

You can stack these add-ons together. Random Blocks + Random Overlay creates the richest, most natural appearance. Test in your world to see which combination feels right for your playstyle.
