Choose the Right Resolution for Your Computer

Understanding Resolution Options

Odar is offers seven resolution tiers from 32x up to 2048x. Higher resolutions mean sharper, more detailed textures but require more video memory and processing power. Your choice depends on your GPU and how much FPS you're willing to trade for visual quality.

Selecting Your Resolution

For older or budget computers: Start with 32x or 64x. These maintain the classic Minecraft look with minimal performance impact.

For mid-range systems: 128x to 512x provides a noticeable visual upgrade without severe lag. Most players find 256x a good balance.

For high-end gaming PCs: 1024x or 2048x delivers photorealistic detail, especially when paired with shader packs. Only use these if your frame rate stays above 60 FPS.

Testing Your Choice

After selecting a resolution, load a survival world and observe your FPS in different environments—caves, forests, and open plains stress your system differently. If you experience stuttering or frame drops below your target FPS, drop down one resolution tier. You can always increase it later as you optimize your setup.
