Optimize Performance on Low-End Hardware
Identify Performance Bottlenecks
Open the shader menu and note your current settings. Monitor frame rate using F3 debug screen. If FPS drops below your target, shadows and colored lighting are likely culprits.
Reduce Shadow Load First
Lower Shadow Distance significantly—this is the highest-impact setting. Reduce it until shadows only appear near your character. Next, decrease Shadow Quality/Resolution to lower detail levels. Test frame rate after each change.
Scale Back Colored Lighting
Reduce Colored Light Intensity to minimize GPU overhead. Disable colored lighting entirely if needed; the shader still provides clean shadows and vanilla aesthetics.
Adjust Foliage Settings
If available, lower foliage quality or disable advanced foliage rendering. This shader prioritizes smooth performance, so medium settings should remain playable.
Final Tuning
Find the balance where your target frame rate holds steady during normal gameplay. Shadows and colored light should remain visible but subtle. Test in demanding areas like dense forests or large caves to confirm stability.
