OctoLib Mod Guide
What OctoLib Does
OctoLib is a shared library mod used by SSKirillSS's mods. It does not add items, blocks, or gameplay on its own. Instead, it provides common code that those mods depend on, so installing it alongside them keeps everything working correctly.
JSON-Based Configs
Right now OctoLib implements one feature: JSON-based configs built on the GSON and JSON-Path libraries. These configs behave like datapacks but use YAML, and they include auto-validation, deep serialization, and other safety features. In practice, this means config files for supported mods are checked and parsed more reliably, reducing the chance of a broken or malformed config causing problems.
Do You Need It?
If you use a mod that requires OctoLib, install it as a dependency. On its own it changes nothing visible in your game, so there is nothing to configure or interact with directly.
