Troubleshoot Tornadoes Not Appearing or Looking Wrong
Verify Shader is Active
Confirm the shader pack is enabled in Video Settings → Shaders. The shader name should appear highlighted. If it shows "None," select Numpy's Tornado Shaders and apply.
Check Compatibility Settings
Some shader options conflict with Minecraft's built-in features:
- Disable "Fancy Clouds" in Video Settings if tornadoes appear distorted
- Ensure your graphics driver is up to date
- Verify your GPU supports the required OpenGL version (typically 4.3+)
Adjust Render Distance and Sky Settings
Tornadoes are rendered in the skybox. If they're invisible:
- Increase render distance to at least 16 chunks
- Check if a custom sky mod is overriding the shader's sky rendering
- Verify cloud height isn't set to minimum
Reset Shader Options
If visual glitches persist, locate the shader config file (usually in .minecraft/shaderpacks/) and delete the configuration file to restore defaults. Reconfigure your preferred settings from scratch.
Test in Different Biomes
Some biomes may render tornadoes differently. Try flying to plains or ocean areas where sky visibility is unobstructed.
