Customize Bloom and Glow Effects on Light Sources

Open Shader Configuration

Press Shift + O during gameplay to access the NPC Shaders settings panel.

Locate Bloom Settings

Find the bloom or glow section in the options menu. Bloom controls the soft, glowing aura that appears around light-emitting blocks like torches, lanterns, glowstone, and other illuminated sources.

Adjust Bloom Intensity

The bloom strength slider controls how pronounced the glow effect appears:

  • Higher values: Create more dramatic, fantasy-like glows around light sources
  • Lower values: Produce subtle, realistic lighting with minimal halo effects
  • Minimum: Disables bloom entirely for a cleaner look

Fine-Tune Bloom Radius

If available, adjust how far the glow spreads from light sources. A wider radius creates softer, more atmospheric lighting across larger areas.

Test in Different Environments

Visit caves, your base at night, and areas with many light sources to see how bloom affects the overall atmosphere. Adjust settings until the balance between visual appeal and performance matches your preference.
