Toggling NoWheel On and Off With the Keybind

Finding the keybind

NoWheel ships with a keybind that flips the mod's behavior on and off without leaving the game. Open Options → Controls → Key Binds and look for the NoWheel entry (it is usually grouped with the other mod-added binds rather than the vanilla ones). Assign it to a key you are unlikely to press by accident — a function key or a modifier combination is a good choice, since you will rarely need to toggle it.

Using the toggle in practice

1. Press the bound key while in-game. The mod switches between "wheel disabled" and "wheel enabled."

2. Test by scrolling: if the hotbar moves, the mod is currently off.

3. Press the key again to return to the disabled state.

The toggle is useful when you temporarily want vanilla behavior — for example, if you are building and prefer flicking through a long hotbar with the wheel, then want it locked down again before combat.

Things to watch for

  • If the key does nothing, check for a conflict in the Key Binds screen; another mod or a vanilla action may already own that key.
  • The toggle state is a runtime switch, not a permanent setting. If you want the mod off permanently, use the config file instead so it stays that way across restarts.
  • Some players bind the toggle to a key they can reach without looking, so they can flip it mid-fight if needed.
