Fixing NoWheel When It Does Not Seem to Work

First checks

If your hotbar still scrolls, work through these in order:

1. Is the mod loaded? Check your mod list. If NoWheel is absent, nothing else matters.

2. Did you toggle it off? Press your NoWheel keybind once and test again. It is easy to hit the toggle accidentally, especially if you bound it to a common key.

3. Check the config. Open the Cloth Config screen and confirm the disable-scroll option is enabled. A previous session may have left it off.

4. Keybind conflict. If the toggle key does nothing at all, another bind may own it. Reassign it in Options → Controls.

When scrolling still changes slots

Some setups have other mods that also touch hotbar input — inventory tweaks, hotbar-scrolling mods, or accessibility mods that remap mouse input. Two mods fighting over the same input can produce behavior neither intends. Try disabling other input-related mods temporarily to isolate the cause.

When scrolling stops working everywhere

NoWheel only affects the in-world hotbar. If your wheel is dead in inventories, creative tabs, or menus, that is not this mod — look at mouse drivers, other GUI mods, or a hardware issue with the wheel encoder itself.

Last resort

Remove and re-add the mod, then relaunch. Config files occasionally end up in a bad state after a crash, and a fresh config restores the default disabled behavior.
