Building Underwater Bases with Better Visibility

Planning Your Underwater Build

The clear underwater vision from NoUnderwaterFog Shaders makes underwater construction far more practical. You can see your work clearly, spot terrain features, and plan layouts without the fog obscuring your view.

Building Process

1. Scout your location thoroughly — swim around and examine the seafloor, nearby structures, and mob spawning areas.

2. Place temporary marker blocks to outline your base perimeter so you can visualize the final size and shape.

3. Build your foundation or frame first using your chosen building blocks; visibility lets you check alignment and spacing easily.

4. Add walls and roof while maintaining clear sightlines to your work. You won't lose sight of blocks as you build upward or outward.

5. Install lighting inside — torches, lanterns, and glowstone work normally and won't be washed out by fog.

6. Create air pockets using doors, trapdoors, or signs if you want to work without water breathing potions.

Design Tips

The clear view means you can appreciate architectural details from a distance. Consider glass walls to showcase the underwater environment. Avoid building too close to ocean monuments to prevent guardian attacks.
