Reset an Item's Anvil Cost
Why Your Item Became Too Expensive
When you repeatedly repair or combine items in an anvil, the cost increases each time. Eventually, the anvil refuses the operation and displays "Too Expensive!" This happens because the game tracks how many times an item has been modified.
How to Reset the Cost
1. Place your item in the anvil and attempt the operation
2. When you see the "Too Expensive!" message, do not click the output slot
3. Open your inventory and drop the item on the ground by pressing Q (or your drop key)
4. Pick the item back up immediately
5. Return to the anvil and try your operation again
The item's cost counter resets when you drop and pick it up. The anvil will now allow the operation to proceed, even if it requires more than 30 levels.
Important Notes
- You only need to drop and pick up the item being modified, not the materials you're combining it with
- This process can be repeated as many times as needed
- The operation will consume the appropriate amount of experience levels when you finally execute it
