How to Keep Playing After a Crash Without Restarting Minecraft

Why this matters for big modpacks

Loading a large modpack can take several minutes. Normally a crash forces you to close the game and sit through that load again. Not Enough Crashes changes this: instead of exiting, the game returns to the main menu, so the already-loaded mods stay in memory. You can often fix the immediate problem and jump straight back into your world.

Steps to recover from a crash

1. When the crash screen appears, do not close the game. Read the report first.

2. Note which mods are listed as involved, then click Done or the equivalent button to return to the title screen.

3. If the crash happened while entering a world, avoid re-entering that exact spot until you have addressed the cause.

4. If the crash was caused by a config value, edit the config file and use the in-game reload where the mod supports it, or return to the title screen and re-open the world.

5. If the crash repeats instantly, you may still need a full restart, but you will already have the report saved.

When returning to the menu is not enough

Some crashes corrupt the current session state, especially rendering or world-tick crashes. If re-entering the world crashes again immediately, restart the game. The benefit is that you already captured the report and identified suspects without losing that information.
