Use NoHurtFlash with Shader Packs

Why Shaders Matter

Shader packs can interact unpredictably with the red damage flash. The bright red often clashes with shader lighting effects, creating visual artifacts or jarring color shifts. NoHurtFlash solves this by replacing the flash with a subtle glow.

Compatibility Tips

The glow outline generally works well with most popular shader packs. However, some shaders may render the outline differently than expected—it might appear brighter, dimmer, or with altered colors.

Testing Your Setup

After installing both the mod and your shader pack, spawn a mob and hit it. Observe how the glow appears:

  • If it looks good, you're all set
  • If it's too bright or hard to see, adjust the glow color in the config file
  • If it conflicts with shader effects, try disabling the outline and using the vanilla damage indicator instead

Optimization

If you experience performance issues, the glow outline is unlikely to be the cause—it's a lightweight visual effect. Check your shader settings and render distance instead.
