How to Fix NoFog Mod Not Working or Fog Still Showing

Common causes

If fog is still visible after installing NoFog Mod, the usual culprits are a conflicting mod, a shader pack, or the mod not being loaded at all. NoFog only removes fog; it does not change render distance or chunk loading.

Troubleshooting steps

1. Open your mod list and confirm NoFog is present and enabled. If it is missing, it did not load with your mod loader.

2. Check for other mods that add or control fog, such as shader mods, weather mods, or atmosphere mods. Disable them one at a time and retest.

3. If you use shaders, switch to internal or vanilla shaders, since shader packs often re-implement their own fog that overrides NoFog.

4. Verify you are testing in the right dimension and biome. Some fog effects are tied to specific places, so test in a normal overworld area first.

5. Restart the game after changing mods, as some fog settings only apply on a fresh launch.

If it still fails

Re-check that the mod version matches your game version and mod loader. A mismatched build may load without error but do nothing. Once fog is gone, you should see terrain to the chunk edge with no fade.
