Set Up Multiple Key Combinations for Ability Mods

Prepare Your Ability Keybinds

If you're using mods that add special abilities or spells, you may want quick access from multiple keys. Open Controls and find the keybinding for your ability (such as "Cast Spell" or "Activate Power").

Create Redundant Bindings

Assign your primary key combination first—for example, V. Then add alternative bindings such as Mouse Button 4, Right Ctrl, or a numpad key. This ensures you can trigger the ability even if your hands are positioned differently or if one key is already held for another action.

Optimize for Combat or Utility

For combat abilities, consider binding keys that don't conflict with movement (WASD) or attack buttons. For utility abilities used less frequently, you can use less accessible keys as alternatives. Test each combination during actual gameplay to ensure they don't interfere with other actions you perform simultaneously.

This setup is particularly valuable in modpacks where ability cooldowns or positioning matter—having multiple ways to trigger the same action reduces the chance of missing a critical moment due to key conflicts.
