Create a Secondary Control Scheme for Different Playstyles

Plan Your Alternative Layout

Decide which actions you want to control differently—perhaps you want ESDF movement instead of WASD, or you want to use number keys for hotbar selection. Write down your desired key layout before making changes.

Assign Alternative Bindings Systematically

For each action in your alternative scheme, add a new key binding through the Controls menu. For example, add E as an alternative to "Forward", S as an alternative to "Left", and so on. Keep your original WASD bindings intact so you can switch between schemes.

Switch Between Schemes Dynamically

With both binding sets active, you can use either layout in-game. This is useful if you share your computer with others, play different mod genres (PvP versus building), or want to reduce hand strain by alternating control schemes.

You could also create a third or fourth alternative scheme for specific situations—such as a numpad-heavy layout for inventory management, or a controller-friendly setup for relaxed play. The mod's flexibility means you're never locked into one control method.
