How the No More Poison with Regeneration Mod Works

Poison and Regeneration Cancel Out

In vanilla Minecraft, having both Poison and Regeneration active at once creates a frustrating tug-of-war: your health ticks up from Regeneration while Poison drains it back down, producing a constant oscillation instead of steady healing. This mod removes that conflict.

When both effects overlap on the same player, the mod resolves them by comparing their remaining durations. The effect with the longer duration is kept, and the shorter one is removed. If the two durations are equal, both effects are canceled entirely.

This means you no longer lose the benefit of Regeneration just because you were poisoned, and you no longer suffer lingering Poison damage while trying to heal. The result is a single, clean outcome rather than two effects fighting each other.

It is especially noticeable in situations like cave spider encounters, where Poison is common and players often rely on Regeneration to recover. The mod simply lets the stronger, longer-lasting effect win.
