How the No LAN Cheating Mod Works

Removing the LAN Cheat Button

The No LAN Cheating Mod targets one specific screen: the "Open to LAN" menu. In vanilla Minecraft, that menu includes an "Allow Cheats" button that lets the host toggle cheats on for the LAN session. This mod removes that button entirely, so the option simply is not available when a world is opened to LAN.

The result is that players hosting a world over LAN cannot switch cheats on through that menu. Because the button is gone rather than merely disabled, there is no toggle to click and no way to re-enable cheats from that screen.

For server administrators, the mod also offers configurable ways to disable the LAN world cheat button, giving some flexibility in how the restriction is applied. The intent is a fairer LAN experience: everyone plays under the same rules, without the host quietly turning cheats on mid-session. It is a small, single-purpose mod, so it does not change gameplay beyond this menu behavior.
