Verify the Resource Pack is Applied to Your World

Check Your Active Resource Packs

Once installed, the New Style Squid Resource Pack must be enabled in your world settings to take effect.

1. Open your world or create a new one

2. Pause the game and select Options → Resource Packs

3. Look for "New Style Squid" in the Available list on the left

4. Click the arrow icon to move it to the Selected list on the right

5. Confirm the pack appears above the default textures (order matters—packs higher in the list override those below)

6. Close the menu and return to your world

Confirm the Changes

Travel to an ocean, river, or any water body where squids spawn. Regular squids should now display the updated texture that matches the glow squid's visual style. Their coloring and shading will appear more refined and cohesive with the aquatic environment.

If squids still look unchanged, try closing and reopening your world, or restart your game client entirely. Resource pack changes sometimes require a full reload to display correctly.
