How to Apply Fireproof Enchantment to Your Tools and Armor

Getting the Enchantment

The Fireproof enchantment can be applied to items using an enchanting table, anvil, or enchanted books. Visit an enchanting table and select your tool or armor piece. Look for Fireproof in the available enchantments—it may appear alongside standard options like Protection or Sharpness.

Alternatively, find or craft enchanted books with Fireproof and combine them with your items on an anvil. This method gives you more control over which items receive the enchantment.

Best Items to Enchant

Prioritize enchanting items you use frequently in dangerous areas:

  • Pickaxes and axes for mining near lava
  • Swords for Nether combat
  • Boots and chestplates for exploration
  • Elytra for flying through fire-heavy biomes

Remember that Fireproof prevents items from burning when dropped into fire or lava, but doesn't protect you from fire damage itself. Combine it with Protection enchantments on armor for complete safety.
