How to Change the Nether Spread Radius in the Config
Finding and Editing the Config
The spread radius controls how far Nether blocks replace Overworld terrain around each portal. The default is 15 blocks, but you can change it to make portals a minor nuisance or a full-blown corruption event.
1. Close Minecraft completely — config edits made while the game is running are usually overwritten on exit.
2. Locate the mod's config file in your instance's config folder. It is a plain text file you can open in any text editor.
3. Find the entry for the spread radius. It is a numeric value; the default is 15.
4. Change the number to what you want. Smaller values (single digits) make portals nearly harmless; larger values make them dramatic.
5. Save the file and relaunch the game.
Applying Changes to Existing Portals
Config changes apply to portals as they are detected. Portals already spreading in your world may keep their old radius until they are re-detected — traveling through the portal, or breaking and relighting it, usually refreshes it. If you want a clean slate, edit the config before generating new portals rather than after.
Keep a backup of the config file before editing so you can revert if a value causes lag or crashes.
