Collect resources efficiently across floating islands

Identify resource locations by biome

Different Nether biomes on floating islands contain different materials. Crimson forests have Crimson wood and Nether wart blocks. Warped forests offer Warped wood and other blue-tinted resources. Soul sand valleys contain Soul sand and Soul soil. Basalt deltas have Basalt and Blackstone. Plan routes to islands with the resources you need.

Gather lava safely

Lava pools float on islands, making them easier to access than in vanilla terrain. Use a bucket to collect lava without falling into surrounding void. Position yourself carefully at pool edges.

Mine strategically

When mining on islands, be aware that digging downward might breach the island's bottom. Leave a safe layer of blocks beneath your feet. Avoid mining support blocks that could destabilize the island.

Transport materials

Carry a crafting table or work station when traveling between islands. This lets you process raw materials on-site rather than making multiple trips. Use shulker boxes or other storage to maximize what you can carry across the void.
